MCA highlights efficiency, environmentally friendly work of members for Earth Day

Washing a vehicle in a carwash is more efficient and environmentally friendly than doing it at home, so on Earth Day, the Midwest Carwash Association urged drivers to visit their locally-owned and operated carwash.

“Local carwash owners and operators work hard each and every day to provide a good customer experience while conserving water and limiting their impact on the environment,” said Robert Davissecretary/treasurer of the Midwest Carwash Association and owner of Lucky Auto Wash in Greenville. “Spring is a busy time when more people are looking to clean off the winter soot and grime and roll around with open windows in a freshly cleaned car. Visiting the local carwash is a great way to support your community and help the environment at the same time.”

Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22 every year since 1970, with events taking place all over the globe.

“On Earth Day, and really every day, it’s better for our water to wash your favorite ride in a carwash than in your driveway,” said Joseph Chatelboard president of the Midwest Carwash Association and owner of Thunder Mountain Carwash in Grand Haven. “Here in the Midwest, we treasure our Great Lakes and taking your vehicle through the carwash is a simple way to protect the lakes.”
